I agree that tire manufacturers need to make more efficient tires.But in my country roads are beneath criticism.So not everything depends on the tires:)

Honda Motor Co., Ltd., announced the development of a Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV) system in 2006 that allows fossil fuel based engines to operate on either 100 percent ethanol or most any mixture of gasoline and ethanol. While this concept is not new, the Honda FFV fuel system has advanced the technology to do what most american made FFV's cannot.
